Power Returning

Yesterday storm, a derecho (dr-ei-chow) an inland hurricane blew through central Iowa causing wide spread damage with downed trees and power lines. Alliant Energy crews and contract workers working to restore power. They will be restoring essential services and facilities critical to public health and safety such as hospitals, nursing homes, fire and police departments, and water systems.


Terry Koubo, SVP at Alliant Energy said in their news release, after visiting Marshalltown and Cedar Rapids, "The storm damaged some of our facilities and buildings. There are trees down on our lines and blocking many roads. Clearing the path, replacing poles and lines, and restoring services - it's going to take time to get our customers re-connected"


Eldora have their power restored today. There are at least 6 crews assessing damage and repairing lines in the area going to repair essential services then repair lines that will return service to the largest number of customers in the least amount of time.
