Storm Damage August 10th

"My kid woke me up saying that it was dark as if it were night time,” says a resident of Union.

A severe stormed rolled through central Iowa today. Le Grand reported winds to the National Weather Service over 106 MPH, taking down trees and power lines alike, causing devastating damage.

"I sat and watched as my neighbor’s shed flew past my apartment," another resident of Union said.

Alliant Energy stated today that Eldora, Owasa, Hubbard, Radcliffe, Union, Liscomb, Steamboat Rock, and New Providence will be without power until tomorrow at least, due to a transmission outage. Alliant also stated that Ames could be out of power for a few hours to a few days.
