Union Household Hazardous Drop off Day

The city of Union, Hardin County Solid Waste Disposal Commission, and Metro Waste Authority are teaming to help union residents to properly dispose of household hazardous wastes that you can't normally put out on trash day.
It starts 4pm-6pm Friday april 23rd at the Union Fire Station. 308 Center St. union, IA.
Things that are NOT accepted:
Ammunition
Asbestos
Electronics
Explosives
Fire extinguishers
Latex paint
Medications
Propane tanks, cylinders
Radioactive materials
What is accepted:
Aerosol cleaners, paints
Ammonia-based cleaners
Antifreeze
Batteries (only rechargeable)
Fertilizers
Fluorescent Light Bulbs (CFLs)
Gasoline, Kerosene
Oil, lead-based paint
Stains, Varnishes
Metal polishes, rust removers
Thermometers ( mercury)
Thermostats (mercury)
Pesticides
Petroleum adhesives Used oil filters
Sharps or needles (must be contained) Must be contained in detergent bottles or sharps containers (not milk jugs or pop bottles) Lids must also be tapod.
